No. Adventure therapy does not require hiking, paddling, athletic ability, or strenuous activity. A meaningful experience can be a seated tactile exercise or a gentle walk.

No. Creative options are invitations, not tests of talent. You can adapt, observe, decline, or choose another way to work.

Yes. Conversation remains part of therapy. Experiential methods are used when they serve your goals, not because every session needs an activity.

The consultation is a brief conversation about what brings you here, what you are looking for, practical availability, and whether the practice appears to be a good fit. You do not need to share your full history.

Frequency is decided collaboratively based on goals, needs, availability, and clinical recommendations. Some clients meet weekly, every other week, or less frequently as the work progresses.

Outdoor sessions involve privacy considerations that differ from an office. Before meeting outdoors, we will discuss the setting, the possibility of encountering other people, communication preferences, weather, access needs, and alternatives.

Parent involvement depends on the young person's age, needs, safety, and applicable law. Parents may participate in consultation or coaching while the therapeutic relationship and appropriate privacy are respected.

Yes. LGBTQ+ clients are welcome at TrailBlazier. Mary offers respectful, identity-affirming counseling and respects the names, pronouns, relationships, family structures, and language clients use for themselves.Therapy is not about telling you who you should be. It is a collaborative place to understand your experience, work with what is causing distress, and make choices aligned with your values.TrailBlazier provides mental health counseling within Mary’s Florida license and does not provide medical transition services. For clients under 18, Mary will explain consent, privacy, and caregiver involvement before services begin.

If another specialty, service structure, or level of care appears more appropriate, referral options will be offered when possible.

No. TrailBlazier is not an emergency or crisis service. Call 911, go to the nearest emergency room, or call or text 988 in the United States if immediate help is needed.

You do not need to purchase anything before your first lesson. After that lesson, Mary will recommend a lesson book that fits your experience, goals, and learning style. You will also need regular access to a piano or keyboard so you can practice between lessons. If you are considering purchasing a keyboard, ask Mary which features to look for before buying one.
